Caltech Sues Samsung Over Patents After $1.1 Billion Win

The California Institute of Technology has filed a new patent infringement lawsuit, after winning $1.1 billion in damages in a patent infringement lawsuit last year against Broadcom. Caltech filed a lawsuit gainst Samsung, saying that Samsung’s Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches use Wi-Fi chipsets which infringe on five of its patents. Caltech also has a lawsuit pending against Microsoft, alleging Microsoft’s Surface tablets, laptop, and videogame systems also infringe on those same patents.
