Santa Monica-based private equity investor Clearlke Capital Group says it has made a strategic, equity investment in RSA Security, which develops encryption, cybersecurity, risk and compliance, and other related software. Financial details of the investment were not announced. According to Clearlake Capital, the investment makes it an equal partner with prior investor Symphony Technology Group. Symphony acquired RSA in 2020, along with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board. RSA had previously been owned by Dell Technologies. Clearlake said that Ontario Teachers’ remains a significant minority shareholder. RSA is based in Bedford, Massachusetts and was founded in 1982.
