UCLA’s Innovation Fellows is a campus-wide program aimed at advancing entrepreneurial excellence and startup culture among faculty and postdocs. The 2022 program is intended to be hybrid with in-person and Zoom events.
Open to all UCLA faculty and postdocs, 8-10 teams will be invited to participate during winter and spring quarters 2022. The program is designed to advance innovative projects into new startups or non-profits through a series of workshops and 1:1 venture consulting meetings. Postdocs and project scientists may apply for the program with a letter of support from their faculty supervisor.
The program culminates in a public Pitch Showcase to the UCLA community and a network of local entrepreneurs and investors. Learn more and apply by November 28th here.

Startup Labs Startup Accelerator
What: Startup Labs is an in-house pre-accelerator program hosted annually by UCLA’s premier entrepreneurship organization, Bruin Entrepreneurs.
About: Whether you have a startup that has already begun generating revenue or just an idea, Startup Labs can help you build and grow your startup. Over a twelve-week period, they will help the founders grow their startups by providing them with mentorship, virtual working spaces, valuable connections, and any other resources they need. At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to pitch at their Demo Day, in front of a live panel of VC judges.

Future Founders Fellowship
What: A prestigious year-long program designed to accelerate the nation’s top young entrepreneurs and their businesses.
About: Accelerate your personal and business growth through the prestigious year-long Fellowship program, which is focused on developing young founders through curated programming, workshops, and community. It runs February 2022 – November 2022, and is open to ALL young entrepreneurs (18-30ish years of age) based in the United States who are a founder and majority equity holder of their company (typically the CEO or C-Suite role)

Techstars Los Angeles Accelerator
What: Accelerator program focusing on innovations that make the world a better place.
About: To participate in this program, companies should have at least 2 full-time founders, have raised $2M or less, and at a valuation of $10M or less. Techstars LA is fully committed to investing in underrepresented founders that reflect the diversity of Los Angeles’ multicultural community.

Bruin Impact Challenge Competition
What: Early-stage social impact ideas competition.
About: The Bruin Impact Challenge invites students from ALL backgrounds and majors to bring ideas in the following tracks: Social Ventures, Creative Projects, Advocacy, and Strategic Giving. This challenge will provide you with the resources for your idea and the opportunity to win cash from a prize pool of $10,000!

Rice Business Plan Competition
What: Startup competition for student founders to pitch to investors, receive feedback, and advance their startups.
About: With access to mentors, real-world experience and investment opportunities, the Rice Business Plan Competition helps student founders stay on target and realize their potential. Since inception in 2011, it has grown from nine teams competing for $10,000 in prize money to 42 teams from around the world competing for more than $1.5 million in cash and prizes. The tracks for the competition include Sustainability, Hard Tech, Life Sciences, Digital Experiences, and Consumer Services. The competition will take place on April 7-9, 2022 at Rice University.

Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Competition
What: Global competition for students who own and operate a business while attending college or university.
About: You must be an undergraduate or graduate college/university student with a company operating for at least 6 months with at least $500 in generated revenue or $1,000 in investment to compete. Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) chapters will host live competitions at the local and national levels to identify the top student competitors in their locations. If you are selected to compete, you will be invited to present at your local competition, hosted by the EO chapter nearest to you.

How to donate food to a food bank this Thanksgiving
Because of the COVID pandemic, more than 38 million people faced hunger in 2020. The first step to donating a Thanksgiving meal to a family facing hunger is finding your local food bank. The Feeding America network includes 200 food banks throughout the United States that work with food pantries and soup kitchens to reach communities. Thanksgiving is one of the business times of the year for food banks. Healthy, non-perishable food is always great to donate to a food bank but is in even higher demand around the holidays.
