Formative, which was a member of the Startup UCLA Summer Accelerator program in 2013, is a platform for K-12 teachers to create assessments or provision assignments from other digital sources and learning platforms and assess in real-time how students handle them and adjust instruction based on those results. The platform recently picked up $70 million, the largest amount of fundraising raised by any Startup UCLA alum. Craig Jones and Kevin McFarland, founders of Formative, came up with the idea while earning their MBAs at UCLA. McFarland also spoke to our current Summer Accelerator teams at this past Tuesday's Fireside Chat. This platform is already in the majority of U.S. school districts, and that it is delivering annual recurring revenue growth of around 700%. Read more here.
