Meet Chilk – the startup that’s making a new kind of milk! Over the summer of 2021, the Chilk team competed in Hult Prize competition in the United Kingdom. This year-long competition challenges students to solve a social issue around topics such as food security, water access, humanitarian issues, etc. At the end the first competition portion in the UK, they achieved a spot as one of the finalists and will now present their product to the United Nations in early 2022.
Co-founders Dr. Leo Liu and Cole Grodnitzky combined their passions of biochemistry, health, and the environment to create Chilk milk. With a doctorate in biochemistry from UCLA, Dr. Liu used his extensive knowledge to invent a non-dairy milk infused with hemp CBD that is healthy and fast-absorbing. With Cole’s knowledge of health conscious trends and the popularity of CBD in college spaces, they teamed up to create the ultimate chill drink!
Chilk (chill-milk) is a vegan almond milk drink that tastes great with 25mg hemp-infusion. Like the protein powders of today’s gym culture, tomorrow’s CBD/hemp will be ubiquitous in the lives of the urbanite in a new set of “de-stress culture.” They are building a CBD lifestyle brand with the zen-enhancing benefits of CBD. With no added sugars and packed full of nutrients, not only are you drinking something good for you, you are also helping the planet. Compared to traditional dairy, they use all vegan milk blends, cutting water use and reducing CO2 emissions. As opposed to plastic, the bottles are made with glass bottles that they reuse and make more Chilk! Check it out here.
