Omaze Offers Up Chance At Virgin Galactic Flight

On the heels of the successful launch of billionaire Sir Richard Branson into space on Sunday, Culver City-based charity fundraising software company Omaze says has launched a sweepstakes to win a seat to space on one of the first Virgin Galactic commercial flights. Omaze said the sweepstakes supports an effort to raise money for Space for Humanity, a nonprofit which intends to send citizen astronauts of diverse racial, economic, and disciplinary backgrounds to space. Omaze lets users make a single entry into the sweepstakes for free, and then offers up additional entries for donations to the nonprofit--starting at 50 entries for a donation of $5 and up, with a $100 charity donation earning 2,000 entries. Omaze is led by CEO and co-founder Matt Pohlson. Sir Richard Branson successfully launched himself into space on Sunday aboard a Virgin Galactic rocketed powered space plane.
