Virgin Orbit Sets Planned Board

Long Beach-based Virgin Orbit has set the planned board of directors for the company, assuming its ongoing special purpose acquisition (SPAC) deal goes through as planned. According to Virgin Orbit, the new board of directors of the combined company, which will be named Virgin Orbit Holdings will include Dan Hart, the CEO of Virgin Orbit; Evan Lovell, Chief Investment Officer, Virgin Group ;George Mattson, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman, NextGen; Katharina (Katrina) McFarland, former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Chairman of the Board of Army Research and Development at the National Academies of Science; Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, Executive Director, Growth and M&A — Direct Investments Platform, Mubadala, and Gregory Summe, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman, NextGen. Virgin Orbit is developing a space launch system based on a modified 747-400 aircraft. The company expects to trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol VORB, after the SPAC deal is complete.
